In light of increasing updates on and concerns about the coronavirus (COVID-19), Bishop David Zubik has made the decision to cancel all weekday and Sunday Masses in the Diocese of Pittsburgh effective Monday, March 16, 2020, until further notice.
“Although in many ways it saddens me to make this decision, given the best advice from health experts on federal, state, and local levels, I feel it is a necessary one at this time.” I’m relying on the understanding and cooperation of all in the Diocese of Pittsburgh as we pray for each other at this difficult time,” Bishop Zubik said.
At St. Joan and St. Louise, our parish priests will continue to offer daily Mass privately for the intentions of our parishioners as well for each Mass intention requested. St. Louise Church will continue to be open daily (6 am to 10 pm) for private prayer. Please note that we will NOT have Eucharist Adoration or our Novena Prayers on Tuesdays.
We will share information concerning the Sacrament of Confession and other public celebrations in church as we learn of the bishop’s instructions.
Our parish offices will be closed to the public throughout this week and until further notice. Staff members will be working regular business hours and will be available by phone and email to continue to serve our parish needs.
Let's all continue to keep one another in prayer, to look after our family and neighbors with extra care, and accept this present situation with patience and assured of the Lord's Peace and Grace. St. Joan of Arc and St. Louise de Marillac, Pray for us!
